Matthew Knight

Founder and Head Coach

Hi I’m Matt, I’ll be your head coach at Matthew Knight: Your Health Retreat. I’d like to share with you my passion about well being and fitness.

 

At the age of 15, I joined a boxing club to become an amateur boxer. 4 years later I won title of ‘ boxer of the year’ in East Midlands. After another 2 years I said goodbye to my boxing days. I realised that healthy dieting, disciplined training and positive thinking have become a big part of me and I wanted to explore more within fitness industry, 1 year later I became a qualified personal trainer and gained my early years of coaching experience.

 

However, being a fireman has always been my dream since I was a little boy so I decided to pursue it and my dream came true. Serving for 13 years as a fireman taught me responsibilities, commitments, teamwork, disciplines…even sacrifice.

 

During my time as a fireman, I started my journey on endurance races, including some of the toughest races in the world. So far I’ve completed over 60 ultra marathon races and I’d like to think every single race has been valuable. The wounds, sweat, pains, as well as laughs, cheers, elations have all added to who I am today.

 
Kirsty Victoria
Fitness Coach

Kirsty has been a personal trainer for 3 years after having changed her career from that of a lawyer to pursue her passion for all things fitness. She's developed her knowledge not only via qualifications but through working with a variety of coaches to develop and adapt her own style of coaching.

She very much believes in creating a stable foundation in the body from which to work with, by correcting imbalances and improving mobility and stability, while still ensuring her clients hit their goals, whether that be weight loss, improving fitness or building strength. 

As well as covering the fitness side of personal training, she also helps her clients understand how to make nutrition simple and to eat according to what their overall goals are, with easy and no-nonsense advice.

 
Tara Kopinski
Yoga Teacher

Tara is a British Wheel of Yoga teacher with over 13 years teaching experience. Tara's style of teaching is Vinyasa Yoga. "Vinyasa" can be translated as "arranging something in a special way" like Yoga poses for example. Vinyasa Yoga is practiced by connecting poses together, moving from one to the next using the breath. Tara prides herself on providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere in her classes for ensuring they are accessible and inspiring everybody that attends.
